Dental Bridges Replace Missing Teeth

Multiple Tooth Replacement Using A Fixed Bridge

Dental implants are ideal when a tooth is beyond repair. They are the best at replacing teeth and providing a natural look, feel, and bite. Fixed bridges allow three teeth to be replaced in the back of the mouth. The bridge containing the three teeth is anchored to dental implants on either end.

The Procedure

Before you are able to get dental implants, we must first make sure you are a good candidate. X-rays and examinations will be done to determine gum and bone volume/health.

Once we confirm you are healthy enough for the procedure, the implants will be surgically inserted into the jawbone. This may take up to six months to fully heal. During this healing time, we will provide a temporary bridge. Depending on the type of implant, a second procedure may be needed to put in the extensions that the bridge will attach to. After a couple of weeks of healing, the bridge, specially created to match and fit perfectly, will be attached to the implants.

Your jawbone heals and fuses with the implants. This allows for extra stability and support that is especially helpful when eating and talking. Although the teeth are artificial, they still require brushing and care like regular teeth.

Healthy gums are essential for dental implant surgery. On top of that, it is also important to have good bone support for the implants. Keeping up on oral hygiene is extremely important to keep your implants healthy.
